UltraBand® Solution Overview

Vyyo technology is designed to enable MSOs to approximately double their overall bandwidth capacity over existing cable infrastructure and increase upstream bandwidth up to four times. To date, cable has used a spectrum ranging from 50 to 850 MHz. Vyyo products expand the bandwidth capacity to include the range from 900 MHz to nearly 3 GHz. But more importantly, Vyyo products can create a symmetrical, or two-way, bandwidth system. Historically, upstream bandwidth over coaxial cable networks has been very limited. Vyyo can help solve these constraints cost-effectively compared to other alternatives such as fiber to the home or office, and without the need to change any protocols or standards unlike some other proposed bandwidth expansion solutions.
